An apparently angry and frustrated ex-President Olusegun Obasanjo has written what clearly competes as one of the most acerbic letters in modern history to President Goodluck Jonathan, accusing him of ineptitude and of taking actions calculated at destroying Nigeria.
“Nigeria is bleeding and the hemorrhage must be stopped,” Mr. Obasanjo said in the 18-page letter dated December 2, 2013 and exclusively obtained by PREMIUM TIMES on Tuesday.
He said Mr. Jonathan has failed to deliver on his promises to the Nigerian people, stem corruption, promote national unity and strengthen national security.
He said in the letter titled “Before it is too late” that rather than take steps to advance Nigeria’s interest and up the standards of living of Nigerians, Mr. Jonathan had betrayed God and the Nigerian people that brought him to power, and has been pursuing selfish personal and political interests based on advice he receives from “self-centred aides”.
To those outside the deaf community, the sign language interpreter for Nelson Mandela's memorial may have looked like he was working very hard, translating the spoken words into gestures for four hours.
But he was a complete fake, and his actions outraged deaf people around the world, according to an association for the deaf community in South Africa.
President Barack Obama, Denmark's Prime Minister Helle Thorning Schmidt and British Prime Minister David Cameron pose for a picture during the memorial service for Nelson Mandela at the FNB Stadium in Johannesburg, December 10, 2013.
As world leaders gathered to pay their respect and honour the life of Nelson Mandela, South Africa's anti-apartheid hero, social media seemed more interested in a selfie featuring US President Barack Obama, Danish Prime Minister Helle Thorning-Schmidt and British Prime Minister David Cameron.
The main concern on Twitter was that the superpower selfie, taken by Thorning-Schmidt with a smiling Obama and Cameron in the frame, was not in good taste at the sombre gathering.
Personally i think South Africans are celebrating Mandela's death, so i see no reason why Obama should be skinned for smiling for their private pics...What do you think?
Lol, only in Naija. That MACE on the table belongs to Akwa Ibom state house of Assembly and clearly, it;s not supposed to be taken to any other function aside being present at the House of Asembly but there it is, sitting right before the Speaker, Mr Sam Ikon and Chief Don Etiebet with his wife at a social function.
Biko Akwa Ibom state peeps, do you guys now do your sittings at social functions or is there more to this pic?
Madam Stella Oduah, in your gutter style thinking, a BMW is an assurance that you won’t die soon. You should have a conversation with Abacha. Madam, Nemesis is COLD.
It comes in the forms of Poison, Cancer etc & to pay your Bills, those BMWs will be auctioned at give away Prices. I don’t wish death for anyone but I’m hopeful that one day a handful of Nigerian Govt Officials will sleep and not wake up.
Lol, so this groupie had a one night stand with Drake and she decides to get her 5 minutes of Fame lol...Hmmmm so we all know Drake enjoys BJ's more than sex.....
I met Drake after he did a show on the Lil’ Wayne tour in Memphis, TN. They were staying downtown at a mediocre hotel and me and a group of my girls just so happened to have a friend working the front desk so we knew where they were at.
We were at the bar having drinks figuring they would be in after the concert around 11:30. Sure enough Drake walks in with some girls (who I believe where the dancers) and the some other short dude whom I assumed was Jas prince son of rap-a-lot owner. So we kind of flirted and got his attention and they came over to the bar and was like what’s up with ya’ll, ya’ll from around here?
San Francisco police has arrested a 21-year-old man who they say killed another man over a PlayStation 4.
The suspect, Ronnie Collins, made arrangements online to buy the new console from the victim, 22-year-old Ikenna Uwakah. Uwakah[Above] was shot at 3:30 p.m. and died in the hospital Sunday, NBC News reports. Collins was arrested on Monday.
Uwakah agreed to meet Collins to sell him the PS4, but Collins allegedly stole it and shot Uwakah as he sat in the passenger seat of his car. Uwakah's girlfriend, who was in the driver's seat, wasn't injured, the San Francisco Chronicle reports.
Uwakah's father, Onyebuchi, said his son had sold many personal effects online before, without problems.
"He does that all the time," he told NBC News. "He buys telephones and things likes electronics and cells. This is what he does. He doesn’t have to tell me every time he does it. He does it to keep busy when he’s not busy with school."
With the world still coming to terms with his passing, actor Paul Walker weighed heavy on the mind of Pop icon Beyonce recently- prompting her to tribute him during the latest Los Angeles showing of her ‘Mrs.Carter Show’ world tour.
Doing so in the company of comedian Kevin Hart and ‘Dip It Low’ performer Christina Milian, the ‘I Was Here‘ singer/songwriter moved her audience with her very own ‘Halo’ and the Whitney Houston / Dolly Parton classic ‘I Will Always Love You.’
