Skillz, who was a part of the JJC & 419 squad (hits including 'Gbao', 'Atide' and 'Kilonsele' and 'We are Africans') and has been acknowledged as one of D'baj's early mentors, has quite a bit to say about the D'banj interview this week. And, as the host of Nigezie's E News, which conducted the interview notes, "It was not nice."

In the D'banj interview, he had mentioned JJC as part of his evolution with Don Jazzy thus: 'People say I'm less talented, I was known as a jester in the JJC squad. I'd make everyone happy and play the mouth organ, but I knew what I wanted. I decided to give Don Jazzy power in 2007 when we realized that after four years, they did not recognize us as a record label. We had signed artistes and done all this work. So we restructured, and restrategized.....if you missed it, you can read it HERE

Skillz is having none of it. He is upset at D'banj saying "we worked for for four years and got nowhere. Why would you be slandering my name?" Noting that the JJC & the 419 squad was "at the top of its game", he shares how he helped D'banj, Kas and other artistes: "I used to pay Don Jazzy a thousand pounds a month."

I am not interested in what D’banj said – Don Jazzy speaks out… again

A couple of days ago D'Banj finally broke his silence over the much talked about Mo Hit's break up. In an exclusive interview with NET Ng, he said: "Don Jazzy was no longer comfortable. You know, we were like fishes out of water, in this new system, starting all over again, like when we returned home in 2004.   I got him a place in the US, set up a studio there, just so he'd be comfortable and be able to work without going to hang around the studios. In one year Jazzy did not make a song. I said, maybe you want to go back to Lagos, you'll get inspiration there?'...You can read Dbanj's interview HERE.

Well, Don Jazzy has now spoken out yet again, this time stressing the need for people to respect his privacy. Ascology News reports that in an exclusive phone interview, he stated that he was not interested in getting into a debate.

ACN asks Jonathan to apologise, revert fuel price to N65

The Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN) has asked President Goodluck Jonathan to apologise to Nigerians for his government's ill-advised removal of the so-called fuel subsidy in January, saying the report of the House of Representatives Committee that probed the management of the subsidy had shown that the removal was an egregious error of judgement that had left Nigerians feeling swindled by their government.
"Against all informed pieces of advice, even from well-informed industry insiders and analysts, President Jonathan approved the removal of fuel subsidy and went ahead to defend it. Well, the President is human and therefore can also be wrong. But when he is, as it has now been proved, he should be humble enough to admit it and apologise," the party said yesterday  in a statement by its National Publicity Secretary, Alhaji Lai Mohammed.
